I think you'll all agree, turning 13 is a big deal. And so, it deserves a special cake to mark the occassion. Allison and I are big American Idol fans, she loves texting (me, not so much), and I know she loves my cupcakes. So when I heard she was celebrating her 13th birthday I tried to put all of these things on her special cake, with Allison, as the star attraction. The cake is chocolate with a chocolate marshmallow filling covered in mauve buttercream to match the mauve fondant on top. The fondant is embossed with a flower pattern and finished off with piped swirls of more mauve buttercream. Thankfully she loved her cake and I was just happy to help her celebrate it with style.
