I made this cake for my neice who was turning 16. I'd only recently started learning how to use fondant and was so excited to make this cake for such a special occassion. I wanted it to be fun, dramatic and beautiful just like her. The two purple sweetarts represent how "sweet" it is to turn 16 and all of the new and wonderful opportunites she will experience. The butterflies represent her metamorphasis into the beautiful person she is and the journey she now begins to becoming an adult.
