My sister-in-law's cousin Violet loves flowers and the colour mauve. She was recently turning 80, so I was asked to make a cake in her honour. Twelve layers of marble cake stacked with mauve blackberry buttercream, topped with an array of white chocolate leaves and chocolate cake crumbs, piped royal icing flowers and all wrapped up in a fondant bow, made a lovely pot of violets ... for Violet.
